Commemorative Bricks
The Donnelly College community has said goodbye to an old friend -- a structure that has served the Kansas City region as a pillar of healing and hope for over a century. Donnelly’s new academic building is now complete and the tower, formerly Providence Hospital, has been demolished to make way for greenspace and a campus quad.
During demolition of the tower building, we salvaged a limited number of bricks that will allow alumni and friends to own a piece of Donnelly/Providence/KCK history. Proceeds from the Commemorative Brick Campaign will establish a new endowed Campus Beautification Fund. Annual proceeds from the fund will be invested to continually improve the grounds that have been a critical anchor for services to the community for over 100 years.
Thanks to a matching grant, all brick campaign proceeds will be matched dollar for dollar! To keep the bricks accessibly priced for the community, we are only charging $50 per brick. However, additional contributions are most welcome and will also be matched to help grow the new fund.
In addition to giving you a permanent piece of community history, your brick order will continue to impact the legacy of purpose that has existed on the corner of 18th and Barnett/Tauromee for more than 100 years.
Due to limited availability, don't wait long to place your order!
(You can pick your bricks up on campus Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or have them shipped for an additional fee of $25 for every two bricks.)
